Annual breakfast supports aviation scholarships

WELLSBORO, P.A. (WETM) — People lined up at the Grand Canyon Regional Airport for the annual fly-in breakfast event to raise money for aviation related scholarships. The proceeds will go towards benefiting kids who are training to be pilots or aircraft mechanics.

People who were at the breakfast visited from long distances to make the trip.

What times do Memorial Day parades start in the Twin Tiers?

Visitors such as Alison Haines came from Chester County, PA said, “We’re not from around here, we’re about three and a half, four hours away but we come up for Memorial Day, every year and we always come and it’s a lot of fun.”

First-time visitor Barry Ferris mentioned, “It’s the first time living in this area that I’ve ever been here. I wanted to see what it was like so far has been a joy. We’ve had pancakes, eggs, ham, all cooked to your liking, with a lot of good camaraderie going around here, and I enjoyed it today. Spent a day out with a wife and see how things are going.”

The breakfast event is held twice a year and will be taking place again on Labor Day weekend.
