Anne Hathaways Dumps DUMBO Loft

SELLERS: Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman
LOCATION: Brooklyn, NY
PRICE: $4,330,000
SIZE: 2,592 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: After more than a year on and off the market — and a change of brokers over the summer — Anne Hathaway and hubby Adam Shulman sold their loft condo at the iconic Clock Tower building in Brooklyn’s Dumbo ‘hood for $4,330,000.

Property records show Miz Hathaway and Mister Shulman, married in Big Sur in 2012, purchased the 2,592-square-foot corner unit in January 2013 for $4.1 million and the recorded sale price is $120,000 more than the last asking price of $4.25 million but $170,000 less than the original $4.5 million price tag.

The buyer, as noted by the New York Post, was German television producer Katharina Trebitsch who, as it turns out, sold a seventh floor unit in the same building several weeks ago for $1.9 million and also owns a high-floor apartment she picked up in 2010 for $2.94 million and had up for lease the following year at $11,000 per month.

Digital marketing materials show the Hathaway-Shulman condo has direct and up close views of the Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges as well as the downtown skyline. The apartment was originally designed as three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms but floor plans show it’s currently configured with two, nicely divided en suite bedrooms plus a windowless office area with a full wall of built-in book shelves. There are wood floors and 11-foot-plus ceilings throughout the apartment that also includes a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen space as well as a small sitting area between the living room and master bedroom.

The full service building offers residence a bike storage room, doorman and concierge services, an on-site fitness facility, package room and a common roof deck with wrap around views.

Your Mama’s research shows Miz Hathaway continues to own a small apartment in Manhattan’s Sutton Place that she purchased in 2007 for $1.6 million — it’s currently, technically, owned by her parents — as well as a very privately situated contemporary residence between Laurel and Coldwater canyons in Los Angeles that she scooped up in May 2009 for $2.2 million.
