Who is the Animal Welfare mayor candidate Femy Amin?
Femy Amin is standing as the Animal Welfare Party candidate in the London mayoral elections.
She works in healthcare and came to the UK as a Afghan refugee when she was a teenager.
Her focus will be on tackling the most serious crimes
Ms Amin says she will take a "holistic approach to crime prevention" and will ensure that the Met focuses on tackling serious crimes such as gender-based violence.
She says she will make sure the recruitment process for the Met is more reflective of the ethnic and gender diversity of London.
She will improve cycling and walking infrastructure
Ms Amin says the current levels of investment in cycling and walking infrastructure are "inadequate" and she will work to improve this.
She will bring in subsidies for low-income individuals and families in order to reduce the number of private vehicles on the road, improving London’s air quality.
She will also refurbish and reopen Hammersmith Bridge as a pedestrian, cycle and public transport-only crossing.
She will increase affordable housing provision
Ms Amin says a key priority for her is creating sustainable and affordable homes for all.
She will work with local authorities to improve, prioritise and expedite the development of brownfield developments.
To improve existing social housing she will push the government to relax the Affordable Homes Programme grant funding rules, to allow local authorities greater flexibility in using funds to regenerate existing homes.
She will ensure targeted funding for underserved communities
Ms Amin will ensure that access to arts and cultural opportunities is available for all Londoners by creating targeted funding for underserved communities.
She will generate investment in the sector by offering greater incentives to productions that operate sustainably.
She will continue free school meals to state primary children
To help with the cost-of-living crisis, Ms Amin will continue the policy of offering free school meals to state school children and expanding public transport subsidies for low-income individuals and families.
She will also support community-owned and renewable energy initiatives to lower utility bills and promote sustainable living practices.
