Animal Welfare League of Arlington announces 29 pet adoptions during Eclipse special

ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) announced Tuesday that 29 pets were adopted during its “Partial Eclipse of the Heart” adoption event.

The event ran from Saturday until Monday, the day of the eclipse. During those days, adoption fees were 80% off for any pet 6 months or older.

Among the adopted animals was Chubby the chinchilla — who was featured on posters for the event — and two baby hamsters.
