Animal shelter is overcapacity following Gaston County storm

GASTON COUNTY (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Gaston County went under a state of emergency after an EF-1 tornado ran through May 10.

That storm has left a major impact on our four-legged friends.

Not only did storms knock out phone and internet to Gaston County’s Animal Shelter, but the shelter is now more than 20 dogs over capacity. This is because of people bringing in dogs following the storms.

The shelter is urging anyone who is able to foster or adopt to visit the shelter.
