Animal Rescue Groups in Texas Need Your Help—Here’s What You Can Do
As countless people and organizations mobilize to help with relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey, animal rescue groups are among the many flocking to Texas to lend a helping hand. Here are three animal rescue groups ready to aid the sweet pets and shelter animals impacted by the horrific storm and flooding.
The Humane Society of the United States
The large animal protection agency has deployed teams in Texas to rescue, relocate, and care for animals in need. They’ve established a disaster relief fund; donate here. They’ve also shared information on how to directly send wish list items to shelters in Texas here.
MuttNation Foundation
Just the other week, country star Miranda Lambert’s animal adoption charity announced they will be building a new pet adoption center in Lambert’s hometown of Lindale, Texas (which is around four hours north of Houston). Now, to support animals in need after Hurricane Harvey, the MuttNation team has been on the ground in Houston since Tuesday, August 29th, working to help local shelters. Donate to their Hurricane Harvey relief efforts here. Additionally, the organization has a variety of dog toys and accessories available on Amazon, with proceeds helping to fund rescue and adoption programs.
