Anita Nicholson, a managing counsel at the mining company Anglo American plc in Singapore, has died in the Sri Lankan bombings Sunday along with her two children.

Her husband, Kennedys Law partner Ben Nicholson, was among the Britons injured in the bombings.

Ben Nicholson, who has been with Kennedys since 2015, worked from the firm's Singapore office. He joined the firm from DAC Beachcroft, where he spent 15 years.

"It is with great sadness that we confirm Anita Nicholson, wife of our partner Ben, and their two children, Alex and Annabel were tragically killed in the Colombo bombings on Sunday," Kennedys said in a statement. "We are in contact with Ben and supporting him in every way we can. Ben is now surrounded by the loving support of his family. This is devastating news and our thoughts are very much with Ben at this difficult time."

The family had been staying at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo, one of the eight sites where the coordinated attacks took place on Sunday.

Anita Nicholson previously worked at BHP Billiton and BP Singapore, according to her LinkedIn profile. A former associate at DLA Piper between 2001 and 2003, she had started her stint at Anglo American in February, the profile read.

The latest reports of the bombings put the death toll from the attacks at 310 people, with hundreds more injured.
