Andrew Luck puts the NFL on notice

For the first time since last November, Andrew Luck suited up for the Indianapolis Colts.

Sure it was only a preseason game, and he played just two series, but what we saw during that brief notice was the Luck of old. Just two years ago he lead the NFL with 40 touchdown passes. Then injuries derailed and eventually cut his season short last year.

Many wondered if it was just him being hurt, or if he surely was turning into a turnover machine. If what we saw last Saturday night against the Ravens was any sort of preview, then Luck is more close to being the face of the NFL than the next Ryan Leaf.

During his two drive, he went 8-8 for 69 yards. Twice leading the Colts into the redzone and although the team finished with just 3 points ( the second drive ending with a Dwayne Allen fumble) he looked poised and in complete control of the offense. In fact, the best part might have been seeing him sliding twice on the first drive instead of trying to take a hit.

We are still a long ways away from the start of the season, but it was still nice to see Luck live in action. Even if it was just for a few short drives.

But the rest of the NFL should take notice. Luck is back and healthy, and he is ready to put the Colts on his back and lead them back to the playoffs.
