Stripe curbs its India ambitions over regulatory situation
Stripe, the global fintech giant, said on Friday that it will temporarily move to an invite-only model for new account sign-ups in India, "a tough decision" it's making as it navigates the country's evolving regulatory landscape. In a statement posted on its website, Stripe said that businesses in India will no longer be able to sign up for new accounts through the company's website, and will instead need to request an invite. The startup, which competes with YC-backed Razorpay and Cashfree in India, will now focus on supporting a select number of businesses, particularly those with a focus on international expansion.

Redpanda acquires Benthos to expand its end-to-end streaming data platform
Redpanda, the well-funded Kafka-compatible streaming data platform that competes with the likes of Confluent, on Thursday announced that it has acquired open source stream-processing platform Benthos. The two companies did not disclose the purchase price, but it's worth noting that Redpanda raised a $100 million Series C round a year ago that now allows it to make these kinds of moves. This marks Redpanda's second acquisition after acquiring CloudHut, which built a web-based user interface for streaming data platforms, in 2022.

Romanian startup FintechOS raises $60M to help old banks fight back against neobanks

FintechOS, which offers a low-code platform, has now raised a $60 million “Series B+” investment round led by BlackRock, Cipio Partners and Molten Ventures.
