Anderson Cooper's Daytime Show To End
The busy life of Anderson Cooper is going to get a little less busy: the giggle-prone, newly out, silver-fox anchor's daytime talk show will not have a third season, the New York Times' Bill Carter reports. The CNN host's foray into the frivolous had a tumultuous run: late this summer it was announced that the show's second season would get a name change—from Anderson to Anderson Live—and format shakeups. Though the Hollywood Reporter reported as recently as this month that Anderson Live was doing better in the ratings among its key demographic of women 25 to 54, the show was still "an underdog in the talk show wars." We're betting the news of the show's cancellation is not comforting to Cooper's fellow serious-news-person-turned-talk-show-host, Katie Couric.

Anderson Live will linger through summer 2013 and then go dark. But we're not worried about the Coop. We're sure he'll find other ways to pal around with Kristin Chenoweth. Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres gets one step closer to achieving her quiet plot for world domination.
