Anastasia Beverly Hills Calls Out Soft Glow Palette Leak

Normally, announcements of new Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup are cause for celebration. The brand has won fans over with its iconic brow products, Instagrammable palettes, and celestial highlighters. But, the latest news from the company caused ABH president Claudia Soare to call fans out on social media.

Recently, a new ABH eyeshadow palette named “Soft Glam” was leaked online by a website called Kicks In Sweden. When Claudia found out, she Tweeted that she was “sick of people posting products that have not been revealed yet.” This isn't the first time one of their releases has been leaked, either; in May, they had another palette leaked through Reddit.

The brand also took to their Instagram to show an official photo of the product with an explanation of what happened. They wrote, "Unfortunately our next palette was leaked on Instagram today before we could have a chance to present it to the world. We are a bit heartbroken as we planned videos to tease the launch, along with our reveal video and subsequent campaign photography. You will still see it all, but the element of surprise is gone, however before more of you see leaked photos of SOFT GLAM, we want a chance to show those of you that haven’t yet seen the leaked photos.”

In recent years, there have been dozens of online accounts that have leaked photos of new makeup before it's been officially previewed. While many fans are excited to get an early look at the products, brands often argue that these unauthorized previews can show unfinished products — or that the release is so far away it could lead to copycats. This instance is the latest example, but at least it looks like fans will have something to look forward to. The Soft Glow palette features warm hues like “dusty rose” and “burnt orange” and “mulberry” and we’re already dreaming up ways to wear it. While the leak has already happened, there is no word yet on when this will be released — and likely won’t be until the brand decides to share it officially.
