Analyst reacts to Boeing DOJ and NTSB investigations
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – “I don’t think anybody’s going to shut Boeing down.”
That’s the reaction to the Boeing probe on Monday from Teal Group Sr. Analyst Bruce McClelland.
“It’s going to remain high profile, it’s going to remain a problem for Boeing for a while,” said McClelland. “But at the end of the day, they will continue to build airplanes, deliver airplanes, generate cash flow.”
The DOJ launches criminal investigation into Boeing
McClelland is not alone.
Sedgwick County Commissioner Jim Howell and a former Boeing employee agree with the sentiment that Boeing and Spirit Aerosystems will continue to thrive.
“The most important thing here is that we have every reason to believe that Spirit and Boeing, between the two of them, all the works going to continue here in Wichita,” said Howell. “We have no reason to believe that things, current manufacturing here in Wichita is going to go someplace else.”
While both the National Transportation Safety Board and the United States Department of Justice continue their close scrutiny of Boeing, some analysts say the long-term outlook for both Boeing and Spirit will remain strong.
