Amy Schumer's wedding dance with her dad will make you melt
There can’t have been a dry eye in the house during Amy Schumer‘s father-daughter dance at her Feb. 13 wedding reception.
The Trainwreck star, who wed chef Chris Fischer in a Malibu ceremony attended by famous friends like Jennifer Lawrence and Jake Gyllenhaal, shared an image of the tender moment on her Instagram Stories.
As you can see, the wedding tradition had a twist, with Schumer perched on a white leather stool to accommodate her father’s wheelchair as they embraced. Gordon Schumer was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when Schumer was 12, and he now lives in an assisted living facility. He frequently uses a wheelchair, though his famous daughter documented him standing with the help of a medical device last November.
As her wedding caption notes, the song choice for her special dance with dear ol’ Dad was Pearl Jam’s “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town,” which is often referred to by a phrase from its lyrics, “hearts and thoughts.” A soulful ballad for a moving moment.
