Amy Schumer’s Donald Trump Joke Prompts 200 People to Walk Out of Florida Show

Around 200 people walked out of Amy Schumer‘s show in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday when she called Donald Trump a “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster,” according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The paper claimed Schumer was met with loud booing about halfway through the show when her jokes switched from raunchy topics to more topical matters, including gun control and the upcoming presidential election.

During her show, she asked a Trump supporter to join her up on stage so he could explain why he was voting for the GOP candidate. The audience member responded that he was voting for Trump mainly because he didn’t trust his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

“Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is,” Schumer asked, “that he gets so fired up from ‘Saturday Night Live’ doing a skit on him … do you worry he’ll be impulsive and get us in a lot of f—ing trouble we can’t get out of?”

When booing erupted, the comedian asked anyone booing to leave with the help of security, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

“Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo,” she said. “I know you’re here to laugh, but you choose how you’re going to live your life, and it’s just too important.”

She added, “Just so you know, from now on, if you yell out, you’re gonna get thrown out.”

Trump has been facing sexual assault allegations from several accusers since a leaked “Access Hollywood” tape from 2005 showed him bragging about groping women because of his celebrity status. Schumer, a sexual assault victim herself as chronicled in her book, “The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo,” asked victims of sexual assault to stand, which many did. Trump has denied all allegations.

Many took to Twitter to slam Schumer for her mockery of Trump.

In a statement to TheWrap, Schumer said, “I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night! I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We had a great time! We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.” The comedian also retweeted the publication’s review with the caption, “All love Tampa.”
