Amnesty 'Disco' Outside Irish Parliament Protests Mike Pence's 'Hateful Rhetoric'

Amnesty Ireland organized a “disco” protest outside the Irish parliament in Dublin on September 3 to rally against US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit.

Footage by Razan Ibraheem, a Storyful journalist, shows a crowd of demonstrators gathered near Leinster House as Amnesty Ireland’s executive director, Colm O’Gorman, addresses them. O’Gorman says the protesters are “standing in compassionate, loving solidarity,” with asylum seekers and others negatively affected by the Trump administration’s policies.

O’Gorman said that those involved in the disco were protesting Pence’s and Trump’s “hateful toxic rhetoric.” Some protesters sported Pence masks, waved pride flags, and held signs saying “Dancing for Diversity” and “Dancing for Freedom.” Credit: Razan Ibraheem via Storyful
