Amid protests, Israel gets spot in Eurovision final

STORY: :: Israeli singer Eden Golan ‘overwhelmed’ by Eurovision qualification

“Well, I feel I'm so overwhelmed with emotions. It's truly such an honour to be here on stage performing and showing our voice and representing us with pride and making it to the finals is, it's it's something crazy and I'm so grateful for everyone who voted and who took part in supporting us and me and, yeah, I'm just super excited to go on stage once more and share a bit of my love with everyone.”

OFF-CAMERA JOURNALIST: "Have you ever thought that by being here you bring risk and danger for other participants in public?"

OFF-CAMERA MODERATOR SAYING: "You don't have to answer that question if you don't want to. If you want to, if you want to answer, please."

GOLAN SAYING: "I think we're all here for one reason and one reason only and the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) is taking all safety precautions to make this a safe and a united place for everyone and so I think it's safe for everyone and we wouldn't be here for any other reason."

Eurovision organisers have resisted calls to exclude Israel over its military campaign in Gaza, triggered by Hamas' Oct. 7 attack, arguing that the competition is a non-political event.
