Amherst County HS receives Virginia Board of Education’s Exemplar Performance Award

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Amherst County High School was announced as a recipient of the 2023-24 Virginia Board of Education’s Exemplar Performance Award in the category of Continuous Improvement.

The accolade celebrates schools in Virginia that have demonstrated significant progress and growth in academic and school quality indicators compared to previous school years. This year, it was given to 27 schools across the Commonwealth.

This recognition reflects Amherst County High School’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and the development of its students. The school’s leadership, educators, and support staff have worked to implement effective strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes and fostering a culture of excellence.
