American ISIS Hostage Kayla Mueller Stood Up to 'Jihadi John' Fellow Captive Reveals

New details about American Islamic State hostage Kayla Mueller's time in captivity will be revealed in an upcoming ABC News 20/20 special report, including a standoff with terrorist Jihadi John.

Mueller, who was held captive by ISIS militants for 1.5 years, reportedly died in February 2015. The Prescott, Arizona, native was originally taken by the terrorist organization while doing humanitarian work in Aleppo, Syria, with a Doctors Without Boarders contractor.

In the 20/20 special, Mueller's fellow hostages will detail their life in captivity, and reveal the abuse they suffered at the hands of their captors.

Previously, Mueller's parents, Carl and Marsha Mueller, said that their daughter was raped by an ISIS leader – abuse she detailed in a letter given to a released French captive.

Further, a Danish freelance photographer who was held in the same complex as Mueller, tells ABC News of her bravery in the face of terror.

Daniel Rye says that Mueller stood up to Jihadi John – the man responsible for the on-camera beheading of James Foley – in front of other male captives.

The special will also feature videos and voice messages sent from Mueller while in captivity, and examine the communication between ISIS and Carl and Marsha.

Says Carl, "Obviously the White House doesn't want this to all come out."

20/20's "The Girl Left Behind" airs on Friday, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
