McCreery and his wife, Gabi, are expecting a new addition to their family in November. The couple are having a baby boy, as first reported by People magazine Tuesday morning.

They took to Instagram to announce the exciting news with photos of the ultrasound and their yellow lab dog, Moose, a puppy they adopted two years ago.

McCreery, 28, is a native of Garner and the 2011 winner of “American Idol.” He and his wife married in 2018 at the Twickenham House & Hall in Jefferson. The couple now lives in Raleigh.

They were surprised they were having a boy, McCreery told People. McCreery, who attended N.C. State University, is the only boy on both sides of his family.

McCreery’s latest single “Damn Strait” climbed the charts to No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay and No. 6 on the Hot Country Songs. He has released five studio albums with his latest, “Same Truck,” released in 2021.

Two of the album’s songs are inspired by Gabi, “Why You Gotta Be Like That,” and “You Time,” The News & Observer previously reported.
