"American Idol" threw in a twist on Thursday's elimination show.
(SPOILER ALERT! This story contains the results of "Idol's" elimination night!)
Instead of kicking off another contestant -- one of the final four women -- all of the contenders will continue through to next week as a result of the judges not cashing in their "judges' save" this season.
"Since the save started back in Season 8, we've built an extra week into our schedule for the judges' save. For the first time, the judges didn't use the save, so we've got an extra week before the finale," show host Ryan Seacrest said at the very end of Thursday's show, after making Amber Holcomb and Candice Glover -- the Bottom 2 -- sweat it out for a moment.
Although both were clearly relieved by the news, Amber and Candice will face an uphill climb on next week's show as Ryan revealed that Wednesday night's votes will count again.
"Your votes will not be wasted because next Thursday, we'll take your over 38 million votes from last night [and] combine them with next week's vote. Whoever receives the lowest number of that total vote will be going home," Ryan added. "But tonight, it's all celebration and good news because your final four ladies are all safe."
"American Idol" continues next Wednesday night at 8/7c on FOX.
