American Airlines to codeshare with OpenSkies

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — American Airlines and a unit of British Airways said on Tuesday that they have agreed to a partnership for flights between Newark, N.J., and Paris.

The code-sharing agreement means that American can put its code on flights operated by OpenSkies, a premium subsidiary of British Airways. The deal makes it easier for passengers to buy tickets that include both the OpenSkies flight and American flights. OpenSkies flies four modified Boeing 757s.

American Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week, but continues to operate as it did before.
