Ameren names Allegheny CEO to board

Ameren elects Allegheny Technologies CEO Harshman to its board

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Electric and gas utility Ameren Corp. said Tuesday that it named Allegheny Technologies Inc. CEO Richard Harshman to its board.

Harshman, 56, joined Teledyne Inc., a predecessor company to Allegheny, in 1978 and rose through the ranks to become the specialty metals company's chief financial officer in 2000 and its president and chief operating officer in 2010.

Harshman was named chairman, president and CEO in 2011.

Shares of St. Louis-based Ameren fell 16 cents to $33.70 in midday trading.
