Amber Rose and Val Chmerkovskiy ‘Both Very Happy’ with New Relationship: ‘They’re in a Good Place,’ Says Source

Amber Rose and Val Chmerkovskiy are going strong.

Almost a month after the couple first ignited romance rumors while getting flirty at Rose’s 33rd birthday party, PEOPLE confirms the two are officially a couple.

“They’re solid and in a good place,” a source tells PEOPLE of the duo, who stepped out hand-in-hand in Los Angeles last week. “They’re both very happy with how things are going.”

The romance sparked while Rose, 33, was competing on the latest season of Dancing with the Stars with pro partner Maksim, her new beau’s older brother. (Rose was eliminated during week 6, but Chmerkovskiy, 30, went on to win the season with his celebrity partner Laurie Hernandez.)

Meanwhile, another insider confirms to PEOPLE the two are indeed “dating now” and says Rose, who shares a 3-year-old son, Sebastian, with her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa, is a romantic at heart.

“Amber falls in love all of the time,” says the insider. “She’s a lover and loves to be in love.”

And while the source says Rose has “so much going on next year” and her jam-packed schedule might get in the way of a relationship, the star is still “having a good time” with Chmerkovskiy.

“She’s definitely into it, so hopefully he’s into it, too,” says the insider.

As for Chmerkovskiy? Well, it would definitely appear that he’s into it, too. The pro dancer took to Instagram on Monday to share a sweet new picture of the couple, captioning it with a single red rose emoji.

Rose reposted the picture on her own Instagram, captioning it: “Him,” with a heart emoji.
