Amber Rose Defends Herself Against Piers Morgan

Feminist advocate Amber Rose got into a heated Twitter fight with British journalist Piers Morgan after he slammed her bottomless photo, which she posted to promote her third annual “SlutWalk,” which she defines as a feminist movement to raise awareness about gender inequality and sexual injustice.

Rose, 33, posted the photo Friday and instantly sent Twitter abuzz. Early Sunday morning, Piers tweeted, “Put it away, luv. Thanks.”

Rose wasn’t going to take being shamed. She quickly fired back, accusing Morgan of being a misogynist.

And that’s when the battle really started. “It's not ‘misogyny’ to think that posting nude photos in the supposed name of feminist empowerment is pathetic attention-seeking bulls--t,” Morgan wrote.

Rose fired back, claiming she wasn’t naked. “Nude? Where? My breast nor my vagina was showing and my legs were closed,” she tweeted Sunday. “I am assuming you are referring to the pubic hair that was shown in the picture. Uncomfortable? Get over it.”

To make her point that Morgan was being misogynistic, she shared the iconic naked photo of Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine on the cover of Cosmo U.K. in 2011 where his groin is only covered by a woman’s hand. “Hey @piersmorgan still attention seeking or Nah?” she wrote.

When Morgan tried to argue the photo was to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, Rose fired back. “Smh I raise awareness for my foundation as well Piers. That's like saying breast cancer awareness is cool but what about HIV and AIDS,” she tweeted. “Lol @piersmorgan my ‘naked’ body offended you for my nonprofit SLUTWALK but a woman grabbing Adam Levine's d--- and b---- was cool?”

She added: “I'm sorry I forgot only men can be sexually confident.”

Rose’s controversial photo was taken by Orin Fleurimont. She was inspired to start the SlutWalk movement after she was slut-shamed at the age of 14 years old.

“My earliest memory of slut shaming was when I was 14 years old. I was still a virgin. I made out with this boy. And it was at the time when, like, all of my girlfriends and the little boys in school, we just start doing Seven Minutes in Heaven and kissing and stuff in the closet,” she told Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2015.

“I thought it was the end of the world. And it was very difficult for me, so as I got older, I guess I realized that things like that are just out of my hands. Like, I couldn’t help it,” she added.

The picture has garnered more than 107,000 likes on Twitter. She was not pleased when it was deleted from Instagram, writing Friday: “When IG deletes ur fire a-- feminist post but you really don't give a f--- because everyone picked it up already.” It was viewed more than 3.5 million times. In the video, she licked her lips, rolled her eyes and smiled.

Rose’s third annual SlutWalk is slated to take place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 in Los Angeles.
