Amazon semi-truck cited for going 92 mph on California highway

NEEDLES, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A driver hauling an Amazon semi-truck was cited earlier this month for going 92 mph on an interstate in an area of San Bernardino County, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP says that, in California, vehicles with three or more axles, as well as vehicles that are towing, have a maximum speed limit of 55 mph.

Officials say the traffic stop took place on April 18, at approximately 7:10 a.m. The location of the stop was on Interstate 40 eastbound, west of the US-95 in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino County.

According to the CHP, the vehicle was observed traveling at 92 mph. The driver was cited and then released, officials said.
