You love shopping at Amazon, but how would you like working for them from the comfort of your couch? The idea might not be so farfetched thanks to the company's Virtual Customer Service program.

On Thursday, Amazon announced it will be adding more than 5,000 new part-time roles over the next year which allows employees to work from home as an agent in its customer service organization.

"There are lots of people who want or need a flexible job - whether they're a military spouse, a college student, or a parent - and we're happy to empower these talented people no matter where they happen to live," said Tom Weiland, Amazon Vice President for Worldwide Customer Service in a press release.

Along with being able to work remotely, part-time employees who work 20 hours a week or more will be able to receive company benefits like paid time off, savings plans and health care. They can also participate in Amazon's Career Choice program that pre-pays 95% of tuition and fees for certificates and associate degrees in high-demand fields.

These jobs are part of a bigger Amazon initiative to hire 30,000 part-time roles across the country in the next year and 100,000 full-time jobs in the next 18 months. To learn more about working at Amazon visit amazondelivers.jobs.
