Alliance man, 62, seriously injured while riding bike in Lexington Township

LEXINGTON TWP. ‒ The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that seriously injured a bicyclist early Tuesday evening at Rockhill Avenue NE and Bolton Street NE.

The sheriff's office said an SUV failed to yield at a stop sign and hit a 62-year-old cyclist from Alliance, who was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton. Investigators determined that the victim was riding his bicycle south on Rockhill Ave when the SUV hit him. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 6:03 p.m.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Lexington Township Fire Department, and the Canton / Stark County Metro Crash Team.
