Woman dies in Stark County house fire

ALLIANCE, Ohio (WJW) — A woman has died after an early morning house fire.

The flames broke out at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday in the 300 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

According to fire crews, dispatchers reported someone was trapped inside of the home. When crews arrived on scene they found fire and heavy smoke in the front area of the house.

First-responders said they were able to enter the home through a back breezeway and pull the victim from the burning home. Life-saving measures were attempted and the woman was rushed to Alliance hospital, but officials said she did not survive.

It’s not clear what started the fire. The State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
