Alliance Elks announce teens of month for April

Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its April Teenagers of the Month. Students are selected by their respective schools based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service to school and community. There were no teens from April from Sebring and only girls from Minerva and West Branch.

Alliance

La'Kesha Black – The daughter of Angie Black and Mike Black designed and participated in painting a mural for Alliance Preschool. She has been in the top 10% honor roll all four years of high school and plans to attend Western Governor's University while working.

Ryan Bruni – The son of Kim and Dan Bruni plays baseball. He plans to attend Walsh University to major in special education while playing baseball.

Louisville 

Taylor Dimmerling – The daughter of Thomas and Deanna Dimmerling is captain of the swim team and runs cross country. She is a member of concert choir, Varsity Singers, Science Club, Drama Club and National Honor Society. She is president of the Choir Council. Dimmerling is a rising senior with Washington Ruritan Club and has taught swimming at the YMCA. She plans to attend Kent State University to study vocal performance speech and language pathology to become a pediatric speech therapist.

Collin Moore – The son of Mark Moore and Sonja Moore is a section leader for the band, and member of Science Club, History Club and National Honor Society. He plans to study chemical engineering in college.

Marlington 

N. Kathryn Bullock – The daughter of Jeff and Alicia Bullock plays soccer and is a member of Duke Street Select Vocal Ensemble and Marlington Chorale. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Bullock is a student director and actress with Drama Dukes. Bullock plans to attend Malone University or Cedarville University while continuing her missions work.

Caiden O'Brien – The son of Ashley O'Brien played football and runs track. He founded the Chess Club and is a former member of Academic Challenge, Character Counts and SADD. O’Brien plans to attend University of Toledo to study neuroscience.

Minerva

Kyle Grogg – The daughter of Sally Grogg and Trent Grogg is a member of Academic Challenge, Student Council, Chess Club and International Circle. She was a member of the “Mamma Mia!” stage crew and plans to attend Miami University to become a pediatric speech and language pathologist.

St. Thomas

Julee Ann Doolittle – The daughter of Jamie and Terri Ann Doolittle plays basketball and softball and is on the golf team. She is a member of National Honor Society and plans to major in forensic psychology in college.

Michael Laubacher – The son of Joseph and Karen Laubacher won the Ed Voyk Scholarship in 2023. Laubacher said he plans to work with his uncle in the masonry business after graduation.

West Branch

Lillian Smith – The daughter of Stacey Smith is on the golf team and has participated in school plays. She has volunteered in the Bingo concession. Smith said she hopes to attend the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and become a mortician.
