The Women’s Division of the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for nominations for the 2023 Athena Leadership Award.

The award will be given at Oct. 16 at the chamber’s Business Alliance Awards luncheon event at University of Mount Union’s Hoover Price Campus Center.

The Athena Award goes to a woman who has attained the highest level of professional excellence in her business or profession; has devoted time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and actively assists women in realizing their leadership potential.

Chamber members received nomination forms and are encouraged to mail them to Athena Award coordinator Dottie Callender at 705 Overlook Drive, Alliance OH 44601. Contact Callender with questions at 330-428-4124 or dottie_callender@aol.com. Printed copies of the form also may be picked up by appointment at the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 330-823-6260 or emailing faye@allianceohiochamber.org.

Nominations also are being sought for the Alliance Chamber’s large and small businesses of the year, and its Spirit of Enterprise award.

The large business of the year is for companies with more than 20 or more employees. The small businesses award is for companies with 19 or fewer employees.

The Spirit of Enterprise award goes to a chamber business that has demonstrated a commitment to the Alliance Area Business Community.

Nominations are due no later than Sept. 25 to faye@allianceohiochamber.org.

The chamber said information on tickets for the luncheon will be released at a later date.
