Allergan names Douglas Ingram as president
Douglas Ingram to serve as president of Allergan in newly created position
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Allergan Inc. said Monday that it has named Douglas Ingram as president of the pharmaceutical and medical device company.
In the newly created position, Ingram will be responsible for leading the company's global commercial operations, which includes Botox and Juvederm facial filler brands.
Ingram has worked at Allergan for 17 years, most recently as executive vice president and president of its business in Europe, Africa and Middle East. Before joining Allergan, Ingram was an attorney with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, practicing in commercial litigation.
Allergan shares sank Monday as it was the company's first full day of trading since the Food and Drug Administration said that a generic version of Allergan's eye drug Restasis could expect an easier-than-expected path to approval.
Shares fell more than 11 percent to close at $81.99 but added 36 cents in after-hours trading following the Ingram announcement.
