Alleged first photos of iPhone 5S box leak, may reveal redesigned home button

Although we remain skeptical of their authenticity, a few photos that leaked on Friday might be our first look at the iPhone 5S’s retail packaging. Several things stand out about the photos from C Technology: the iPhone featured on the package is clearly running iOS 7, the 5S branding on the side of the box is identical to the iPhone 4S branding, and the home button appears to be surrounded by a silver ring.

The first two pieces of information aren’t much of a surprise, but the silver ring might be a sign of the fingerprint scanner that has been discussed repeatedly in recent months. C Technology himself notes a few discrepancies in the photos which might indicate that the images were altered (or the box was faked entirely), but unless another image leaks ahead of the reveal on September 10th, this is the only look we have so far.
