Aljur Abrenica denies replacing JC Santos in "Asintado"
15 Jan – Kapamilya's new addition Aljur Abrenica recently denied that he was actually a replacement for JC Santos when he was cast as one of the leads in the upcoming series, "Asintado".
As reported on PEP, the actor, who appeared at the press conference of the upcoming drama, shared that he plays a different character than what was offered to Santos, back when the project still had a different plot and was called "Victims of Love".
"It wasn't me. I was excited to work with JC at the time, but he couldn't do it, so it was changed," he said.
Earlier, Santos revealed that he was pulled out from the project and will be working on a different drama with a different leading lady.
In "Asintado", Abrenica plays Xander, a man who decides to help Juliana (Julia Montes) seek revenge on the family of Salvador del Mundo, but ends up falling in love with her.
"My character was their victim too. Xander's parents died, just like what happened to Juliana, so the two of them are now seeking justice to overthrow Salvador," he said.
