She only quit Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the last series, but professional dancer Aliona Vilani has already said that she wants to return to the hit BBC show.

The 31-year-old is reigning champ after winning last year’s series of the show with The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness but the star decided to bow out in December so that she can settle down and have a family with her husband, Vincent Kavanagh.

However, Aliona has now admitted that she already misses the show and she desperately hopes to return to it in some way this Autumn.

She explained: “I won’t be dancing with a celebrity in the next series. But hopefully I’ll still be involved in the show in other ways.

"I’m missing it already. When I decided to leave after the final I cried my eyes out. It was very upsetting for me. It was a really hard decision. I had enjoyed the season so much.”

However, her desperation to finally start a family has left her convinced that she has made the right decision, adding to the Daily Star: “It would be a hard balance being on Strictly and starting a family. I want to have two or maybe three children. Strictly consumes your life.

"It takes five months out of the year and I wouldn’t want to be away from my family for that long.

"I had no choice but to give up being one of the professionals. But if I was told I could have a couple of days off, that might change my mind.”

Whatever happens, we hope that Aliona pops up at least once or twice in this year’s series of the show!
