Algerian energy minister's priority to lobby OPEC for production cut - source

ALGIERS (Reuters) - Algerian Energy Minister Salah Khebri's priority is to lobby OPEC members "again and again" to push for a cut in oil production to defend prices, a source at state energy company Sonatrach said. "The top priority for the new minister will be to lobby OPEC again and again," the source told Reuters late on Wednesday. "Second, will be to boost output at existing fields." OPEC meets in Vienna on Friday and delegates are signalling that there is little appetite for changing the group's production. Algeria is looking at ways to offset the fall in global oil prices that has cut energy revenues that account for 95 percent of its exports.
