Alec Baldwin recovering from hip replacement surgery: 'All went well'

Alec Baldwin has received a hip upgrade.

The 59-year-old actor underwent hip replacement surgery on Wednesday, his wife, Hilaria, shared on Instagram. And it went off without a hitch.

“Thank you for your kind wishes,” the 34-year-old yoga instructor captioned a photo of her hand clutching Alec’s in his hospital bed. “I know many of you are anxious to hear how he is doing. We have been here since very early…All went well in surgery and I am with him in recovery. [Love] to all #wegotthis2018.”

Hilaria, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, gave a heads-up about the surgery Tuesday night after an especially chaotic day in the Baldwin house.

“It’s been a day… jury duty, crabby kids, vet, meetings, pancakes that went oh so wrong,” she wrote. “But I’m ending it with an amazing experience watching Alec interview Michael Wolff for #heresthething… and now we rest because tomorrow morning we are in the hospital bright and early for his hip to be replaced. Think good thoughts for us. We are gonna eat lightly, relax, and take deep breaths.”

Despite their age gap, the pair fell in love and tied the knot in 2012. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in September, Baldwin, who has been under fire recently for defending Woody Allen, said he’s “madly in love” with the yogi and author and does whatever it takes to keep her happy, including renewing their wedding vows last year.

“When you’re 26 years older than your wife, you’ve got to keep them faked out a lot,” he said with a laugh. “There’s the vow renewal, and let’s get a bigger apartment. You’ve got to keep her off balance so she doesn’t really think about what’s going on.”
