According to Deadline, Rebecca Ferguson ("Hercules") and Alec Baldwin are among those expected to round out the cast of the next Tom Cruise-starring spy movie.
As the start of production approaches, rumors are still circulating on possible new additions to the cast of "Mission: Impossible 5." Jessica Chastain, who was attached to the female lead as recently as April, will ultimately not join the next installment in the adventures of Ethan Hunt. Instead, the role has gone to Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson, who will be seen in theaters from later this month in "Hercules."
Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin, who was seen recently in Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine," is in talks to play the head of the agency in charge of the famous spy, Deadline indicates.
In early June, Jeremy Renner confirmed the return of his character, Agent William Brandt, in the follow-up to "Mission: Impossible 4." He will be reunited with Simon Pegg, who has been part of the franchise since the third movie.
"M:I5" is co-written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie ("Jack Reacher") and is due for release in US theaters on December 25, 2015.
