ALDOT sets public hearing on McDonald Road, Three Notch-Kroner Road traffic

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Alabama Department of Transportation will host a public involvement hearing to discuss options for traffic relief on McDonald Road and Three Notch-Kroner Road in Mobile County.

The hearing will take place on Thursday, May 9, at Meadowlake Elementary School in Mobile from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Mobile County is sponsoring the hearing.

HEARING LOCATION:

ALDOT engineers collaborated with the Mobile County Commission and the Federal Highway Administration and are proposing two alternatives to relieve traffic congestion.

The first alternative: “Widen McDonald Road from Old Pascagoula Road to Three Notch‐Kroner Road and Three Notch‐Kroner Road to McFarland Road/Ben Hamilton Road,” an ALDOT release said.

As for the second option?

“Construct McFarland Road on a new alignment beginning at the intersection of Old Pascagoula Road and ending at the intersection of McFarland Road/Three Notch‐Kroner Road,” ALDOT said.

Those unable to attend the meeting can learn more about the alternatives on the project website. There, you can also participate in the hearing online and submit comments.

The project website includes maps, right-of-way information, an environmental study, a commenting form, and a video, among other features.

ALDOT said all comments must be submitted by May 27.
