With Oakland Raiders edge rusher Aldon Smith suspended, Raider Nation has sat patiently hoping he would make it back to the team in November without any issues. Then a video posted on Periscope threw a wrench in everyone’s hope for Smith’s return.

The video in question never shows Smith’s face but it was posted to an account that had posted a number of videos with Smiths face. In the video, the user is smoking what appears to be a blunt (marijuana wrapped in a cigar wrapper) while a woman he is with tells him it’s a bad idea to put the video on the internet.

The account is not confirmed and has very few followers but it also contains videos that clearly show Aldon Smith. In response, Smith tweeted out that it was not him in the video but didn’t say a whole lot more.

But Aldon need not worry. If it is in fact not him but rather someone trying to troll him, the Raider Nation will find out. Not long after the video was posted, fans began picking the video apart, trying to find any clues as to whether it really is Smith. Here are some of the tweets from Raider sleuths:
