ALDI buys land for another store at site of former mall in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Another ALDI grocery store could be opening in Baton Rouge in 2024.
According to Elifin Realty, ALDI has purchased “a 3-acre lot adjacent to the Amazon Fulfillment Center at the former Cortana Mall site.” The site is “directly adjacent” to where Big Lots used to be, Elifin Realty said.
ALDI confirmed their intent to build a store at this location. Read the following statement about the development.
“We can confirm that we have moved forward with the permit application for another development in Baton Rouge at the intersection of Airline Highway and Florida Boulevard. At this time, we do not have a Grand Opening date planned for this store but we are aiming to open before the end of the year.”
