Alden Richards to star in Pinoy's "My Love from the Star"?

The actor may play the lead in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama

18 Apr - There is a chance for Alden Richards' fans dream coming true, following director Joyce Bernal's statement recently that the actor may star in an upcoming Filipino version of K-drama, "My Love From the Star".

As reported on Chisms News, Bernal, who spoke to the media recently, stated that she will hopefully collaborate with Richards in a project inspired by the hit 2014 Korean drama, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Kim Soo-hyun.

The statement came following rumours that GMA-7 is buying the rights of the SBS drama.

Fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, dubbed the AlDub Nation, previously expressed hope that the network would realise their dream of seeing the two of them in the Philippine version of the drama. Posters of Richards and Mendoza replacing Jun Ji-hyun and Kim Soo-hyun's images have been circulating the internet, with fans posting, "GMA-7, please make this happen!"

However, although Richards may possibly star in the lead, Bernal stated that she has no knowledge whether the lead actress will be played by Mendoza or if the network has someone else in mind.

"But I hope it's Maine. They already have chemistry," she said.
