Miller has been in and out of jail most of his adult life with arrests in Illinois, Kansas, California, and New Mexico. The career criminal has conned furniture stores, car dealerships, and senior citizens.

Miller’s criminal history includes charges of racketeering and child abuse. Now, he’s accused of raping two women, telling them that he was producing a reality TV show focusing on the women of Albuquerque.

Miller, who had claimed to be a senior pastor of a local church in the past, spoke at his hearing but was quickly shut down by his attorney. Prosecutors urged Judge Joseph Montano to keep Andrew Miller behind bars until trial.

On Friday, his attorney argued the women might have made up the story.
