If there’s one thing that many local concert fans have started looking forward to each summer, it’s the Albertsons Boise Open.

The tournament doesn’t just offer top-notch golf. It also puts on affordable, exciting outdoor music — featuring major acts.

Jon Pardi, Daryl Hall and the Goo Goo Dolls will be this year’s performers. The shows will happen immediately after Korn Ferry Tour action ends on the first three evenings of the tournament, which is Aug. 22-25 at Hillcrest Country Club, 4610 Hillcrest Drive.

Country singer Jon Pardi will get the ball rolling Thursday, Aug. 22. “Mr. Saturday Night” was just in Idaho; he played a sold-out concert at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa in late February. But don’t be surprised when this show sells out, too. Pardi is known for hits such as “Dirt on My Boots,” “Heartache Medication” and “Head Over Boots.”

Soulful pop singer Daryl Hall will perform Friday, Aug. 23. The iconic vocalist is best known for his hugely successful duo, Hall & Oates, which had a string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s including “Rich Girl,” “Maneater,” “Out of Touch,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)“ and many more. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, he’s also known for his long-running web-turned-TV-series, “Live from Daryl’s House.”

Alternative-rock band the Goo Goo Dolls will headline on Saturday, Aug. 24. Formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York, the Goo Goos are a multiplatinum act that achieved huge mainstream success in the mid- to late 1990s with hits such as “Name” and “Iris.”

Concerts will happen alongside the 18th fairway at the golf course. Admission is included in the price of daily tournament tickets and four-day passes. Daily tickets are $30 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and $10 for Sunday’s final round. Four-day passes for the entire tournament are available for $85. Visit AlbertsonsBoiseOpen.com to buy tickets, which become available starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 12.

The event is promoted and put on by Jeff Sanders Entertainment.

“We are thrilled to bring Boise another entertaining year of exciting PGA Tour golf by day and amazing concerts at night at Hillcrest Country Club,” Jeff Sanders, CEO of Jeff Sanders Entertainment, said in a media release. “Last year the event set charity records thanks to our amazing title sponsor Albertsons, presenting sponsor Chevron, over 125 major sponsors and 800 loyal Boise volunteers! We can’t wait to do it again while hosting the most fan-friendly affordable event in August right here in Boise.”

Now in its 35th year, the Albertsons Boise Open “will be the first of three Korn Ferry Tour Finals events to feature 156 Korn Ferry Tour players as they compete to earn their PGA Tour cards for the 2024-2025 PGA Tour season,” according to the release.

Albertsons has sponsored the event since its inception, and Chevron joined in 2021 as the presenting sponsor. The Albertsons Boise Open has raised almost $36 million since its start in 1990. Last year, it set the Korn Ferry Tour record with a donation of more than $3 million to charities.

The face value of all tournament ticket sales goes to Treasure Valley charities.

“A portion of the money raised for charity will once again come from the Mondelez Tickets Support Charity Program where 100% of all event ticket sales support local charities,” according to the release. “Through the Mondelez Tickets Support Charity program, all ticket purchasers will select the local charity their ticket purchase will support.”
