Alabama women’s season ends in second round of NCAA tournament

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Women’s Basketball team fell short during the second round of the NCAA tournament to Texas 65-54.

The Tide were outrebounded 49-35. Alabama also had more turnovers during the Sunday matchup in Texas. For the Longhorns, the team shot the ball around 40% from field goal range and held the Tide to 34%.

Alabama Guard Sarah Ashlee Barker and Alabama Forward Aaliyah Nye had a combined 31 points during the game. Texas’ Forwards Madison Booker and Aaliyah Moore put up a combined 42 points for the Longhorns.

Alabama’s season will end with a record of (24-10).
