Alabama sheriff’s office assisting in search for missing Nashville woman

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department is searching for a woman who has not been seen by her family in almost a year.

Jennifer Bell, 38, was reported missing around Feb. 2 out of Nashville. According to detectives, the last time she had contact with her family was in July 2023, when she reportedly met her mother at a Shell Gas Station off Dickerson Pike to get gas money.

The vehicle that Bell was driving was later found abandoned on July 24, 2023, over 300 miles away near the 8000 block of Lee Road 179 Salem in Lee County, Alabama. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it is now assisting in the search for Bell.

According to Bell’s cousin, Carla Sullivan, she was last seen with her in Nashville. Sullivan picked her up from work and took her to meet her boyfriend.

“Our hope is that she’s run off with prince charming,” Sullivan said. “Reality says she never left Alabama, which I will leave that to everybody else to figure out.”

Sullivan went on to talk about the impact her disappearance has had on their family. Bell is a mother of three children and her family hasn’t been able to rest since she first went missing.

They urge everyone to take another look at Bell’s photo and report any sightings of her to authorities.

“Her children miss her and we all miss her,” Sullivan said.

We contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Department for more information on the finding of Bell’s vehicle and await for their call back. Sullivan believes more can be done in her disappearance, and that her family wasn’t notified about Bell’s vehicle being found until last week.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 334-749-5651 or the Metro Nashville Police Department at 615-862-8600.
