Alabama football adds two FCS opponents to future schedules

Recent conversation around Alabama football and scheduling has been more about the future of the SEC's model. But some other future scheduling news emerged this week for the Tide.

Alabama now has contracts for games with Eastern Illinois and Tennessee-Martin that FBSchedules.com obtained through an open records request.

The Crimson Tide is set to face Eastern Illinois on Nov. 22, 2025, and UT Martin on Sept. 16, 2028.

In 2025, Alabama also has Florida State and Wisconsin on the schedule as nonconference opponents. In 2028, the Crimson Tide is set to face Ohio State and Oklahoma State as part of home-and-home series.

Alabama will pay Eastern Illinois $560,000 and UT Martin $500,000. Each include "good faith" clauses, per FBSchedules.com. That means if conference realignment prompts changes in the schedule to where the game can't be played, the schools would discuss future dates.

Alabama was set to face UT Martin in 2020 before COVID-19 hit and led to a conference-only schedule.

This season, the Crimson Tide's FCS opponent will be Austin Peay, in a game scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Nov. 19 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+/SEC Network+. Other nonconference opponents this season include Utah State (Sept. 3), Texas (Sept. 10) and Louisiana-Monroe (Sept. 17).
