Al Jazeera footage shows Taliban in Kabul's presidential palace
Carrying weapons, Taliban fighters were seen wandering around the presidential palace, taking pictures and removing the Afghan flag off the wall.
Sitting together around one desk, fighters raised their guns in the air and chanted, "God is Great".
Taliban officials issued statements aimed at calming the panic that has been building in Kabul as the militants, who ruled from 1996 to 2001, routed the U.S.-backed Afghan army as foreign forces withdrew.
