Al Franken Connects Trump's Climate Accord Withdrawal to Russian Hack on 'Daily Show'

President Donald Trump announced today that the United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, saying "I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris." The Paris Climate Accord is a global agreement to cut down on emissions in order to limit the rise of global temperatures. The United States joins only two other nay saying countries, Syria and Nicaragua. Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show, couldn't help but notice that Trump's withdrawal announcement took place outside, saying, "Can I just say, telling nature to go f*** Itself while standing in a garden is a pretty gangster move. I'm not going to lie. The only way that could have been more messed up is if he did it with a polar bear standing in the background." But no one was more disappointed by the news than Trevor's guest, Senator Al Franken saying, "It's a depressing day. I was in Paris for the conference, and this is terrible. Our leadership in the world is at stake." When Trevor asked Franken which was worse, Russia hacking the US election or the US withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord, he couldn't help but connect the two saying, "If [Russian election hacking] hadn't happened, I think that Hillary would be our president and we wouldn't have pulled out of this, so they're actually related."
