Air India pilot held after air-hostess complains

New Delhi, March 7 -- The police have arrested an Air India pilot for allegedly misbehaving with a flight attendant on-board an aircraft. The alleged incident took place on a Delhi-Kolkata flight on Saturday and woman had filed her complaint a day later. The police were waiting for the pilot to return from Bangkok to arrest him. "The pilot returned on Tuesday evening and we asked him to join the investigation. He was questioned at length and was arrested," a senior police officer said. Sources said the pilot told the police that he had called his friend in the cockpit and air-hostess had also come there. "The woman's complaint was enough to arrest him and her colleague also confirmed that there was an argument between them over a friend of the pilot who was in the aircraft," the officer added. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also launched an inquiry into the issue while Air India is also conducting an internal inquiry. While passengers were boarding, a friend of the pilot entered the cockpit to chat with him. The air-hostess asked the pilot which seat she should give to his friend and it was then that he "misbehaved" with her. Air India has ordered an internal enquiry and pilot has been grounded till the completion of the inquiry.
