"?Oh she has a lovely smile I am voting for her!? that?s what you are going to get,? he explained." Fair play, he#$%$ the nail right on the head. It's regardles of who does the actual dancing well (how many series has there been where the underdog "comedy entry" who seldom gets right right has been kept in week and week again by the adoring public), the whole thing is a popularity contest, based on a number of things, actual dancing talent being way, way down the list. Anyone who pretends otherwise is only trying to fool themselves.
Danny hasn't just had training he is literally a professional dancer
Strictly has gone the same way as many other programmes these days, it`s all about filling the same old z listers pockets with the licence fee.
My cat can dance. 🐱
People actually watch this?
A show going down hill
What's all the fuss about? It's the same every year, those 'celebrities' that come from an entertainment/drama background will have learnt basic dance at drama /theatre schools. Last nights show was excruciating watching them pretending they didn't know who their dance partner was going to be and at the end of the show, seeing them all dance a choreographed finale with their partners. Err..... I think they must have learnt and rehearsed that a few times together, don't you?
It seems like a few lessons in English grammar wouldn`t go amiss.
New England Patriot
He was great in Red Dwarf. His character was genius and he played it well. Can you imagine what would happen now if he was cast as a descendant of the ships cat? The PC brigade would scream outrage and racism! Go Danny, hope you do well
It`s not a level playing field if trained or semi-trained contestants are allowed and, Danny John-Jules it does have something to do with something !
First of all I'd like to say that I always enjoy Danny John Jules when he's on screen, I always try to watch what he's in. But to say that he's had 'professional training' is abit of an understatement. I have watched strictly for years and you can spot the contestant how has had a 'smattering' on dance classes. I have never bothered before, as like most people who watch, I watch for the entertainment of a 'Dance competition', not just for the smile, and I do not even vote and I would think the majority of the viewers do not vote either. But back to DJJ's qualifications. Because of his comments, I looked back at his career, and it's reported that he has performed in a professional televised dance troupe, Nigel Lythgoes 'Second Generation', he was an original cast member of 'Starlight Express', and many other west end shows. So he has been paid for dancing, so that made him a professional dancer. So to be criticized, is not much of a stretch, it's the same as Mr Kipling being criticized for going on 'Bake off'. Being in the celebrity spotlight all these years, I thought DJJ would have learnt to 'ride the punches', because he is showing himself in a less favourable light. I hope he does well, I know he will do well, but not because of his training, or the 'race card', he will do well because he is a popular 'BBC' person and it's my view that they control who stays in.
Even the biggest 'Strictly' fan has to concede that this show isn't blessed with the highest class of celebrity. Either the top celebrities are bored with it or The BBC isn't willing to pay the highest salaries to tempt them.
